Information
STATE TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIP
THERE WILL NOT BE A CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT FOR 2010.
To Qualify for this championship your team must meet the following:
-
Both anglers must be members of CT Outdoors.
-
The team must have participated in all four tournaments of a particular team trail. For example, a team must have participated in all four tournaments of the CT East Team Trail. You will not qualify simply by participating in four individual tournaments of different team trails.
-
Neither angler was disqualified from any CT Outdoors event.
Championship Tournament information:
-
Each team trail will be considered a "division".
-
There will be no entry fee to participate.
-
There is an optional $10 lunker per team.
- Regular season rules will apply during the tournament.
- No substitutes will be allowed to fish the championship. You must fish with your regular season partner. If your regular season partner cannot participate then you may, at the discretion of the Tournament Director, be allowed to fish alone.
- If your team qualifies in more than one division or if an angler fishes with different partners in more than one division, the division in which you placed highest will be the division in which you will advance to the championship. You will then be removed from the standings in the other divisions.
- $25 per regular season team entry will go toward the State Team Championship.
- Qualification is based on point standings for participating in all of the tournaments in a particular division. First place will be awarded 200 points, second place will be awarded 199 points, and so forth. Teams that do not weigh in fish at a particular tournament but participated in that tournament will receive 100 points. A team's point standings for the season is their cumulative points based on how they finished in all four events of that division.
- The top 10 teams in point standings from each divison will qualify to fish in the championship. This is based on an average field of 30 boats per tournament throughout the regular season in each division. If there are less than 30 boats per tournament, then less teams may qualify.
- There will be one "wildcard" team chosen in each division that will be allowed to participate in the championship. The wildcard team is chosen randomly by pulling a team name out of a hat. To qualify for the wildcard pick a team must have participated in at least three tournaments in a particular division and not have already qualified for the championship in another division.
- Any team that has participated in all four events in a particular division and wins any event in that division, will automatically qualify to fish the championship.
- The winnings will be awarded to the top three positions.
- Awards will be given to the highest placing team in the standings in each division.
